My Thoughts:
Awaken Me by Emily Gossett
Awaken
Me is the story about Aimee, a young woman who’s live is about to
change forever. For 6 years she has believed she was in a car accident

She has become very close with his mother Elizabeth and father Nathan.

sees something that changes everything. Derek killing her best friend

violence. She jumps off the ship and onto the mainland. She bumps into a
mysterious man. She walks around the streets until coming across a
gorgeous hotel. Aimee stays for a few days. Until she runs into the
mysterious man again, Alec.
Alec tells Aimee to go with him or
she will be harmed by Derek. Agreeing she goes with him. They go to this
underground place. There she learns her mother isn’t die in fact she’s
the leader of the community, a vampire community. Aimee is told she is a
vampire, a Yurling, a young vampire that hasn’t been awakened yet. She
is confused on who she is. And also confused about the sudden feelings
for Alec, when she still clearly loves Derek.
However, Aimee
knows she had to kill Derek. To end the bond they share. In order to

hybrid means she has special powers. Powers she can use to destroy
Derek.
Leaving a heartbroken Alec, Aimee sets off to Florida
with the warrior Marcus at her side. Derek has no clue of what his
ex-fiancé is capable of.
Paranormals have been a hit and miss
with me lately. So I was a bit hesitant to read Awaken Me. However when I
started I couldn’t stop. There is something about the world Emily has
created in Awaken Me. The book came to live. I truly loved this take on
vampires, werewolves, and other paranormal creatures. I loved Aimee, she
was vulnerable at times, but grew into a kick ass fighting machine! I
loved Alec too, is loyalty and love to her is so amazing. Considering
they were apart for 6 years!! I cannot wait to get Capture Me for
review!!
If you are a fan of vampires, werewolves, and just
paranormal stories. Then this is the book for you. It has action, drama,
romance, and oh yeah a girl that kick some ass!!

"Rose Zarelli, self-proclaimed word geek and angry girl, has some confessions to make 1. I'm livid all the time. Why? My dad died. My mom barely talks. My brother abandoned us. I think I'm allowed to be irate, don't you?
2. I make people furious regularly. Want an example? I kissed Jamie Forta, a badass guy who might be dating a cheerleader. She is now enraged and out for blood. Mine.
3. High school might as well be Mars. My best friend has been replaced by an alien, and I see red all the time. (Mars is red and "seeing red" means being angry—get it?)
Here are some other vocab words that describe my life: Inadequate. Insufferable. Intolerable.
(Don't know what they mean? Look them up yourself.)
(Sorry. That was rude.)" - Information from Goodreads.com
My Thoughts:
Rose Zarelli is dealing the horrible loss of father and trying to understand the rules of high school. Rose feels that she is older than a freshman. Because she doesn't play the games her friends are or wanting to drink at a high school party. Her life at Union High soon becomes a living nightmare. Because she kissed the head cheerleaders boyfriend. Things quickly spirally out of control. After an almost fight with Regina. And not talking to her best friend for weeks on end.Something happens that makes Rose want to get back at Regina.
I really loved this contemporary read! What an awesome debut for 2012. Looking forward to the sequel!!

"Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can't keep a secret
Until now. Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast—and nearly got someone killed.
Now Chelsea has taken a vow of silence—to learn to keep her mouth shut, and to stop hurting anyone else. And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she's ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is worse.
But there's strength in silence, and in the new friends who are, shockingly, coming her way—people she never noticed before; a boy she might even fall for. If only her new friends can forgive what she's done. If only she can forgive herself." -Information from Goodreads.com
My Thoughts:
Chelsea Knot has always been the “gossiping queen” of Grand Lake high school. Her best friend Kristen’s New Years’ Eve party changes everything about Chelsea’s life. Her gossiping ways leaves someone fighting for his life. Upon the attack of Noah Beckett. Chelsea decides to take a vow of silence. During the no talking phase. She makes friends with Asha. Finds that telling the truth was the right thing do to. Even if she lost her so called friends and realizes all the changes she went through. Her life is even better than before
I feel Speechless has taught me the power of our words. Its what we say or don’t say that affects everything and everyone around us.
I really loved this story and the characters!!! I will be reading of Hannah’s work in the future.
I just wish to know what becomes of everyone.

"Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky — and unending — lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.
It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left…his soul."
-Information from Goodreads.com
My Thoughts:
Inbetween was an amazing touching story. About Emma whose live has been turn upside down for the past years. Since the car accident that took her father's life. There have been a lot of freaky accidents almost costing Emma her life. Little does she know she has an guardian of sorta’s trying to make sure she is protected. Finn a reaper who isn’t supposed to be near Emma is risking everything to keep her save from the evil soul Maeve. Because its Finn’s fault Maeve is causing all the chaos to Emma.
You are in for a ride with this one. There is of twists and turns. I’m still in awe of the ending and that true love can over come anything, even death!!
I really loved this story and want the sequel in my hands right now!!

Castle Waiting Vol. 1 by Linda Medley
Castle Waiting, Vol.1 by Linda Medley
Released: June 17th 2006
Publisher: Fantagraphics Books
Series: Castle Waiting Omnibus Collection,Book One
Page Amount: 457, US Hardcover Edition

"Castle Waiting graphic novel tells the story of an isolated, abandoned castle, and the eccentric inhabitants who bring it back to life. A fable for modern times, Castle Waiting is a fairy tale that's not about rescuing the princess, saving the kingdom, or fighting the ultimate war between Good and Evil, but about being a hero in your own home.
The opening story, "The Brambly Hedge," tells the origin of the castle itself, which is abandoned by its princess in a comic twist on "Sleeping Beauty" when she rides off into the sunset with her Prince Charming. The castle becomes a refuge for misfits, outcasts, and others seeking sanctuary, playing host to a lively and colorful cast of characters that inhabits the subsequent stories, including a talking anthropomorphic horse, a mysteriously pregnant Lady on the run, and a bearded nun." -Information from Goodreads.com
My Thoughts:
This is an interesting take on the story of Sleeping Beauty. With some other colorful stories. This is the second graphic novel I read. I really did like the story. And I'm glad I picked it up. I might carry on with the series.
Thanks to Misty at The Book Rat, for recommending this one.

Publisher: Random House Books for Young Readers
Series: Seraphina, Book One
Page Amount: 467, US Hardcover Edition

Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered—in suspiciously draconian fashion. Seraphina is drawn into the investigation, partnering with the captain of the Queen's Guard, the dangerously perceptive Prince Lucian Kiggs. While they begin to uncover hints of a sinister plot to destroy the peace, Seraphina struggles to protect her own secret, the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life.
In her exquisitely written fantasy debut, Rachel Hartman creates a rich, complex, and utterly original world. Seraphina's tortuous journey to self-acceptance is one readers will remember long after they've turned the final page." -Information from Goodreads.com
My Thoughts:
Not
going to lie, I wasn't in love with this one at first. The medieval
wording and all the terms to remember made it difficult for me to
understand. However I found myself not able to put this down.Rachel did a
fantastic job with this debut novel!! Its only the second dragon book I've read. I
really loved Seraphina, Prince Lucian and Princess Glisselda, Orma. The
whole dragon storyline.
Truly amazing!!! You should read this, right now!!
I want the sequel admittedly!!
