September TBR 2017
I normally do not make TBR's. For the reason is that I never follow through with them. But since we only have 4 months left of 2017. I do want to make sure I read the books I want to read before the year is over. So I think starting this month and into October. I will be reading some spooky books. Since you know Halloween is 60 days away. Best get to started on some book Halloween-ish books.
I want to finish some series during the next 4 months as well. I am bad at finishing series I previously started. Anyone else have that same problem?
Without further ado here is the books I'm hoping to read in September:
I know I said I'd wait to finish this series but I'm going full steam ahead to get it done.
Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington
Endless by Jessica Shirvington
Empower by Jessica Shirvington
Review Books:
Watch Me Disappear by Janelle Brown ( was supposed to read this back in July oopies)
The Marriage Pact by Michelle Richmond ( another book I should've read in July)
Dirty Little Secret by Kendall Ryan (expected release date 9/14/2017)
I will add more books as the month goes. But these are the books I'm going to focus on the first 2 weeks of September.
Happy Reading, Ashley

August Wrap Up 2017
August was my worst reading month so far in 2017. I only managed to read 5 books. I feel so disappointed in myself. I had every intention of getting alot read. But nope, that didn't happen. But hey not every month will be getting 10 or more books read. Life gets in the way as it does. Just going to hit the reset button for September.
Here is the books I read in August:
1. On The Fence by Kasie West
I borrowed this from the library. I heard alot about Kasie's books from Booktube.
I enjoyed this fun, but at times serious book. I rated it 4/5 stars
2. Through the Woods by Emily Carroll
A graphic novel. Borrowed this from the library as well. It was an interesting graphic novel. 4/5 stars
3.Surviving Death: Evidence of the Afterlife by Leslie Kean
A nonfiction book about past lives. And how some people can recall who they were in past lives. I've always been interested in this subject matter. 4/5 stars
4. Embrace by Jessica Shirvington
A reread for me. I first read this book back in 2012. 5/5 stars
5. Entice by Jessica Shirvington
This is the sequel to Embrace. I wasn't as hooked with this one as book one.
4/5 stars
That is a wrap on August!

Bout of Books 20 Wrap Up
I had good intentions of getting some serious reading done during the Bout of Books 20. However life had other plans. On Sunday August 20th, my mom found a cat who had been thrown out a car window right in front of my mother's car. I've been taking care of him. He was unwell the first few days. He is doing good. He is in heat, meowing all the time....I mean all the freaking time. But he will be getting fixed in 7 days as of today!!!! Then it will be introducing him to his other siblings and the dog.
So needless to say I didn't succeed in my TBR for Bout of Books 20. I still do want to finish The Violet Eden Chapters series. I am almost finished with book 2 Entice. I might take a short break and read some other books and then go full steam ahead with books 3,4 and 5.
I hope September will be a less crazy month in my personal life. And that I can get some good amount of reading done. I'm currently thinking of maybe doing NaNoWriMo this year. I can write songs. Stories are my trouble area. I really want to write a story and turn into a novel. That would be awesome. But I don't think it's in the cards for me. But right now I'm just thinking of maybe doing NaNoWriMo. We will see.
On Saturday August 26th my brother race the final points race at the Selinsgrove Speedway. He might be up for Rookie Of The Year. I hope he gets it. He puts his heart and soul into racing.
How did you during the Bout of Books 20? If you participated in the readathon.

When I'm Not Reading # 3
When I'm Not Reading # 3
A look into what I do when I'm not reading.
I wanted to share with you all what my family and I do on the weekends. As I've mentioned in my Back Again post. My brother races at a local dirt track, Selinsgrove Speedway. I wanted to share some pictures of his car and my family at the track. It is scary seeing him out there racing with the other cars. I know it is something he's always wanted to do. He is getting better with each race. He started late last year 2016. He's been in 3 wrecks. He was okay, the car needed some work done to it.
If you've ever gone to a race you know it is crazy. The excitement from seeing the cars on the track. Hoping the guy you are cheering on can win. It feels different when it is someone you know. A family member. Every time my brother is out there I say a little prayer for him to be safe. I also think back to when we were kids and he was obsessed with playing this Nascar computer game that can with a steering wheel. He'd play that game for hours.
This is from when he first started last year. Duck tape number and letter. The trailer you see behind it was borrowed from a friend of his.
From May 20th 2017
The painting on the car was done by a family friend.
This was last year. Waiting for him to go out onto the track. In the photo is my brother, sister in law, and Dad.
This was from last Saturday watching the late models.
Hope you enjoyed insight into what do besides reading.

Currently Reading
I've been having a not so great reading month so far in August. I've read 3 books. I've taken breaks in between reading. My addiction to Supernatural is to blame.
Anyways I thought I'd share a post on the book I'm currently reading. In this case it's rereading. Embrace by Jessica Shrivington I read this book back in 2012. I want to finish more series in 2017. And since it's already August I need to up my A game. So I picked this from the overdrive website of my library. I love overdrive. I know ebooks are a bit misunderstood by some. I personally love reading on my kindle. I sometimes prefer it over reading a physical book. I hope to finish Embrace in a few days and start book 2.
What are you currently reading? Plan to read for the rest of August? Finishing any series?
Happy Reading, Ashley

Surviving Death: Evidence of the Afterlife by Leslie Kean
Surviving Death: Evidence of the Afterlife by Leslie Kean
Released: March 7th, 2017
Publisher: Crown Archetype
Page Amount: 320, hardcover edition
Source: Blogging For Books
"While exploring the evidence for an afterlife, I witnessed some unbelievable things that are not supposed to be possible in our material world. Yet they were unavoidably and undeniably real. Despite my initial doubt, I came to realize that there are still aspects of Nature which are neither understood or accepted, even though their reality has profound implications for understanding the true breadth of the human psyche and its possible continuity after death.
So begins Leslie Kean s impeccably researched, page-turning investigation revealing stunning and wide-ranging evidence suggesting that consciousness survives death. Here she continues her examination of unexplained phenomena that began with her provocative and controversial New York TimesbestsellerUFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record. Keanexplores the most compelling case studies involving young children reporting verifiable details from past lives, contemporary mediums who seem to defy the boundaries of the brain and the material world, apparitions providing information about their lives on earth, and ordinary people who recount some of the most extraordinary near-death experiences ever recorded. Kean's first book, and her credibility as a seasoned and well-respected journalist, made people take notice of a topic that many considered implausible. This book will do the same this time enriched by Kean s reactions to her own perplexing experiences encountered while she probed the universal question concerning all of us: Is there life after death?""
Information from Goodreads.com
My Thoughts:
I've always had an interest in past lives. And have found it fascinating that there are people that can recall a past life that they lived at one point. This book was a great insight into people giving information on a past life they lived. I did receive this book from Blogging For Books exchange for an honest review. I am glad to have been given a chance to read and review a book on a topic that hits close to home for myself. I have a family member that for years as a child would recall dying in a plane crash. No one believed the person. However years later and thanks to the internet the person found out about said plane crash that it was real. And even found out who they were on the plane.
If you are interested in past lives and learning more about them you should give this a book a read.

Back Again
Hello My Lovely Booknerds, I know it has been a while since I've posted anything on here. But since my family and I got a "new" computer. I will be back to blogging once a week or so. I've been reading a lot and also I have a new obsession. I became addicted to the tv show Supernatural. Right now I'm almost finished with season 6. My goal is to be caught up in time for season 13 premiere in October. Besides reading, watching tv, been spending some weekends at a local dirt racing track Selinsgrove Speedway. My brother stared racing there last year. It has been an interesting experience. He is getting better with each race. He has had 3 wrecks. One was from himself. The other two were because of other drivers. I will post some pictures of his car soon. We have added some new kitties to our clan. We had nine. One passed away. But then a little angel know as Cupcake appeared on our porch. She has been ours for almost 3 months now. Besides her we still have Fiona and Sofia. As well as Bam, Binx, Ozzy, Romo, Sniffles, and Bella. Our dog Sadie passed away back in January. Life hasn't felt the same. 2017 has been a tough year.
I miss talking about books and life with you all. I hope you all are looking forward to my reviews and posts about life and what not.
Sorry for being MIA. I found it difficult to blog from my phone and kindle. But if you follow me on Goodreads. You will see everything I've been reading.
I will post my July wrap up tomorrow.
Happy Reading, Ashley
