"Once upon a time, I was a little girl who disappeared.
Once upon a time, my name was not Alice.
Once upon a time, I didn't know how lucky I was.
When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends- her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over.
Now Alice is fifteen and Ray still has her, but he speaks more and more of her death. He does not know it is waht she longs for. She does not know he has something more terrying than death in mind for her.
This is Alice's story. It it one you have never heard, and one you will never, ever forget."
-Information from the inside the book.
Elizabeth Scott's Living Dead Girl, is a heart-wrenching story of a little girl taken by a sexual predator. Who keeps her for 5 years molding her into his perfect little girl. Until one day Ray decides its time for "Alice" to find a younger version of herself for him to mold all over again.
This was my first Elizabeth Scott novel. I loved it even though the subject is a morbid and horrorifying story. Living Dead Girl was an eye-opener of how easily it is for someone to take a child and harm them, make them believe harm will come to their loved ones if they don't do all that the kidnapper says.
Since its only 170 pages, it was a quick read. The ending wasn't happy. although in a story like this there isn't such a thing as a happy ending.
5/5 stars!
Love, Ashley
